Guge kingdom ,Kailash, Manasoravor Trip make the “ultimate pilgrimage” tour to holy Kailash and Manasarovar and the Hidden valley Guge Kingdom. We start the tour from Kathmandu in Nepal & the tour includes traveling overland to the sacred Manasarovar Lake and Mount Kailash. This tour offers the ample chance to camp by the ethereal waters of the holy lake Manasarovar and to take part in a 3-days kora around Mt. Kailash. We can enjoy the spiritual journey in a holy and beautiful land being closer to nature & it’s beauty.

This tour includes rigorous overland driving, trekking and camping through remote regions of western Tibet, at altitudes of 2,745m/9,000ft and 4,880m/16,000ft, hiking to a maximum of 5600m/18,400ft.

Trip Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrivable in Kathmandu.
Transfer to the hotel. collect original passport for visa process of Tibet.

Day 02:Kathmandu sight seeing Tour.
Guided city tour of world heritage sites of Kathmandu including Kathmandu old city complex, swayambhunath stupa and patan old city.

Day 03: Drive to Zhangmu (2300m), distance 3km from bridge & about 30min drive. Depart Kathmandu city early in the morning, Kathmandu-Tibet border through the villages, roadside bazaars on terraced hill that takes total of about 4 hours to the Tibetan border. After clearing immigration formalities in both the Nepal and China side we will drive up to the Zhangmu town and take a rest for the night. Rest and acclimatize.Overnight: 3* Zhangmu / Caiyun / Mani hotel.

Day 04: Drive Zhangmu – Nyalam( 3750m) . Distance: 30km. About 1½ – 2 hr . In the morning, after breakfast at the hotel, pack and drive toward next destination, though it’s a short drive from Zhangmu to Nyalam, but the increase in altitude is more than 1400m with a day. Rest day for acclimatize. You can visit the Nyalam Pelgye Ling temple associated with great Milarepa, the Tibetan yogi, known for achieving enlightenment within one single life time.
Overnight: Guest house.

Day 05: Nyalam – Pelku-Tso – Saga (4600m). Distance: 300km. About 5-6 hours .
Today drive and cross two high passes Lablung La (5030m) offers spectacular views of Mt. Shishapangma (8012m), the only 8000m-plus mountain planted completely inside Tibet and many other peaks, all of which are dwarfed by the Tibetan plateau. Midway we will get a glance of Pelku Tso Lake (4591m). The route then follows a narrow gorge. We continue driving on, past the turn-off for the northern route and arrive at Saga town. You will cross the Brahmaputra River, sandy and rocky lands of Tibet. On the way, you may get a glimpse of Tibetan Nomads with their herds and tents. It is at Saga where you will connect the main road from Lhasa. Upon arrival at Saga, check in the local guest house and take a rest.

Day 06: Saga – Manasarovar Lake (4560m). Distance: 450km. About 7-8hr drives.
We continue across the vast dry plains to the small Tibetan town of Zhongba and Baryang. The road condition from Zhongba deteriorates due to invasion of the sand dunes from either side of the road but we have photogenic views of the sand dunes, lake and mountains comes in 60 km from Zhongba. Now a day, the road is all black topped. Later half day, will drive crossing of several sandy rivers (Most rivers have bridges now) but has some of the most panoramic scenery of the trip. We cross a high pass of Mayum-la (5216m). Today you will have the first view of Holy Mount Kailash from Horqu. We drive further to the Westside of the Manasarovar Lake for overnight nearby Chiu Gompa Monastery.

Day 07: Manasarovara Lake – Darchen (4600m). Distance: 40km. About 1½ – 2hr drives.
It’s a short drive of about 2 hours to Darchen. After lunch, you may want to prepare yourself for the three days trekking
Crews will be organizing pack animals (yaks) gears and supplies for the trek.

Day 08: Darchen – Dira Phuk (4910m). Distance: 20km/6hrs/200m ascent.
Tarboche, marked by Tibetan flags is the starting point for kora and it is the site for Tibet’s most important annual Saga
Dawa Festival. Walk up the Lha Chu Valley through beautiful green meadows and streams with Mt Kailash towering above
us. We follow the river, which enters a narrow canyon with high, steep cliffs and spectacular waterfalls. Continuing up the
valley, the north face of Kailash comes into view before we reach the 13th century monastery at Dira-puk.

Day 09: Drira Phuk – Zutrul-Phuk (4790m). Distance: 18km/6-7hrs/550m ascent/600m descent.
About 7 hrs trek Bid farewell to Lha Chu Valley and prepare to fight the toughest part of the kora. You will enter the Dolma
Chu Valley, heading up towards a high pass, the Dolma La (5,630m) that is marked with Tibetan prayer flags. The rest
of the day’s walk is mostly downhill and flat land. On descent, you will pass by one of the highest lakes in the world, Thukpe Dzingbu Lake (Gauri Kunda), known as the Lake of Compassion. Zutrulphuk monastery is built at the site of a famous cave, which is believed to have been created as a result of contest between Milarepa (Buddhist yogi) and Naro Bonchung (Bon saint)

Day 10: Zuthul-Phuk – Darchen. Distance: 14km/3-4hrs/150m descent.
The final day of the kora is rather short and easier. It takes merely 3-4 hours that involves crossing of several streams andfollows an impressive gorge from where you can look back for fabulous Barkha Plain. The valley narrows and at times its sides look like something from the American southwest or the Australian outback, except for the prayers fluttering across the river. Overnight: Guest house.

Day 11: Darchen – Tirthapuri – Thada (3650m). Distance: 340km. About 5-6hr drives.
On the banks of Sutlej, only a few hours’ drive northwest of Darchen, the Tirthapuri Hot springs enjoys close associations with Guru Rinpoche. Pilgrims traditionally bathe here after completing their circuit of Mt. Kailash. Continuing with our journey towards Western Tibet, we have a scenic day drive that first climbs over Jingla pass (5100m/16728ft), from where we will enjoy a unique view of the unique landscapes. Onwards, the road zigzags down into a series of gorges and climbs up the other side before eventually making a long winding and very rough descent down a fantastically eroded gully where the hills on the both sides are worn into incredible shape. The side valley emerges into the wider Sutlej Valley and after crossing a bridge, the road finally reaches the oasis like town of Zanda, also known as Thada.Overnight: Guest house.

Day 12: Thada sightseeing. Visit Guge Kingdom and Tholing monastery.
We explore Tholing and neighbouring Tsaparang (20km east of Tholing) which are the ruined former of Ngari-West Tibet. Tholing, which was once the most important monastic complex in western Tibet, is an awesome sight. Below stands the first capital of Guge whilst the skyline comprises a vast sweep of the Ladakh Himalaya. Guge’s later capital at Tsaparang is of even greater significance in the history of Buddhist art, its fantastic wall murals displaying evidence of close links with Ladakh and Kashmir. We will rediscover the cave dwellings, secret twisting paths tunnels linking the palaces. Overnight: Guest house.

Day 13: Drive Thada to Baryang.
Retrace all the way back to Baryang. Distance: 450km. About 7-8hr drives. Overnight: Guest house.

Day 14: Drive Baryang – Nyalam.
Retrace all the way back to Nyalam. Distance: 480km. About 7-8hr drives.
Overnight: Guest house

Day 15: Nyalam to Zhangmu to Kathmandu (Nepal).
Distance: 30km.About 1½ – 2hr drives to Zhangmu.
End of the trip of Tibet part with drop at the China Nepal border friendship bridge. Clear the custom and enter Nepal. Drive back to Kathmandu. overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 16: Departure from Kathmandu.

Note: if Kodari Border is closed we can operate Tour from Rasuwa Gadhi Border.
